Our last day at El Questro and on the Gibb. We’ve had the last 27 nights along the road and haven’t been connected to 240V power since we were in Broome. Something we’d never have considered before this trip.
This morning we were back out by 630 in our car this time for the 30km drive to the Emma Gorge hike (with Karen doing her thing and heading out for a sunrise walk beforehand).

Despite our concerns after the El Questro gorge hike the other day and the grade 4 rating of the Emma Gorge hike, Bob and I smashed it in and we both felt the walk was very doable – we even overtook a number of people on the way in! I’m crediting the healing waters of Zebedee Springs as my knees haven’t felt this good for years – or it could be the anti inflammatory tablets I took 2 days ago…
The water in the gorge was cold. The Scott’s swam to the waterfall while Bob and I found a thermal spring that feeds into the gorge and sat at that. Much more our thing.

We hiked back to the Emma Gorge Resort where the boys had a coffee and I got some replacement sunnies for the ones that are sitting on the track somewhere at Litchfield. We were back at the vans by lunch and some down time before heading out for the afternoon Chamberlain Gorge cruise with Champagne and most excitingly, fresh fruit! We decided the cost of the cruise was justified just to get the fruit after so long without 🙂 .
While the gorge wasn’t the most interesting one we’ve been to, the commentary was good and we didn’t have to hike to it 🙂 .

Apparently the water is unseasonably brown due to the rain event a month ago and the resident estuarine crocs (salty’s) have gone awol since then too.
We were back at camp in time to get changed and head out for a really lovely final dinner at the restaurant here. Tomorrow we pack up and head to Kununurra via Wyndham for a few nights.

Looking good!!!
The gorge was very pretty, not sure about the models though 🙂
It’ll be all grown out by the time you’re home. And looks good.
That’s the plan – assuming I don’t cave and put the colour I have stashed in the van in case of a meltdown on 🙂 .
