2025-07-02 Point Lowly
Well today we finally had that morning wake up where it actually feels like we are on holidays. No early starts to hit the road as we only needed to travel around 200km today. Bob and I enjoyed the frosty start to the day looking out the van window with the diesel heater pumping while Karen and Kieran headed out running and walking in the cold. Karen got some beautiful photos while she was out.

We didn’t rush to leave and hit the road when the temps were much more palatable. We stopped at Port Augusta for lunch and fresh food supply replenishment after crossing the border yesterday. There are so many wind generators down this part of the country!

We have moved to Point Lowly tonight in advance of our cuttlefish tour tomorrow. Jase and Sue have navigated us to the most divine free camp on the water which we have all to ourselves. Sue was successful fishing for squid this afternoon and all except the lone vegetarian on the trip have enjoyed calamari cooked on the campfire tonight. It has been a really lovely evening, finished off with toasted marshmallows before we have all retired to our vans. It’s starting to feel like holidays 🙂 .
