2025-08-20 Cleaverville Creek
A relaxed start for us today – the blogging is taking longer and longer each night. Sort of like homework, but I’ll be so grateful for the records that I’ll never remember when we get home. The later the night, the slower the morning…..
As per every other day, the Scott’s exercised early. Today the Allen’s fished on the beach, but no success.
We caught up with the others – Karen planned to kayak to Cleaverville Creek after her recon this morning. A 5km kayak around the rocky coastline. The rest of us drove there and I even did some droning to get some shots of Karen paddling when it became apparent the memory card was sitting in the van after yesterday’s shots……
Thank goodness Bob bought his drone along and I stole his card to get some photos. I really think the contrasts, textures and winding estuaries are some of my favourite drone shots on the trip so far.

Karen and Kieran found an idyllic spot to enjoy the morning while Jason snorkelled his way around the point to the creek entrance.

Once we’d finished at the creek, we all headed back to camp for lunch and a relaxed afternoon. I used the time to finish the crocheted turtles to remember our Ningaloo experience. The turtles spent some time enjoying the late afternoon sun on the beach before they took up their residence in the vans…..

Once the turtles had had their play on the beach it was time to familiarise them with their long term homes. Turtle 1 is living in the ensuite of the Mitcho van with the Ningaloo driftwood picked up when we were living the dream on the coast a couple of weeks ago.

Just before sunset we all hiked up the local rocky hill and enjoyed drinks, nibbles and some chill time while the sun set.

Karen took some lovely shots while we were all enjoying the views.

Then it was back to the vans to prep dinner. After we’d eaten we all enjoyed a fire with S’mores prepared by Sue for dessert. So yummy!
Tomorrow we all move on. The Allens are leaving us for a few days while we head to 40 mile beach with the Scotts for 3 nights.

Wonderful photos of the serpentine creek! Would love to paddle there sometime!
It really is very pretty.
I like that you have photos with people in them and not just all scenery – beautiful as it is
Yes I sometimes forget the people 🙂 . Lucky everyone else reminds me to get people shots. They are good for the memories.
