A relaxed start this morning before we all headed out to the 18km loop drive in Leseuer National Park. We wound our way around the drive and saw the varied flora as we progressed. Lots of new wildflowers to add to our list.

The variety of plants in such a short distance was amazing. So many grass trees!

We finished the loop and headed towards the highly recommended Stockyard Gully Caves. Unfortunately, once were were nearly there we came across a road closed sign which also included the caves. A shame the national parks website didn’t reflect this.

We backtracked and headed into Green Head for a visit. We called in here on the way up the coast in July and were absolutely pummelled in a downpour when trying to get to the lookout to see sea lions. Today was so much different. Once we’d enjoyed the view we headed to the one and only cafe in town and enjoyed a late lunch.

We arrived back at camp mid afternoon where the Scott’s rode to North Head, the Allen’s hit the beach to fish and Bob and I finally made it to the lookout at the southern end of the beach as well as did some droning.

Tonight we have all enjoyed a toasty fire outside the van before we head off again tomorrow. Getting into the thick of civilisation now…we are all staying at different locations tomorrow before meeting up on Saturday at Fremantle.

  1. Gorgeous petite Aussie native flowers! Also, Kerri was the plane you flew on to the island the other day a Cessna Caravan by chance?

      1. Thanks Kerri. Family friend is a pilot of and was interested in your photo of the plane. Wayne Mum and Dad are heading west at present so we shared some of your Nullarbor and WA experiences with them for ideas.

        1. Oh what a great time to be heading over. They should see wildflowers on the Nullarbor as well. Hopefully they’ll still be there when we head back.

          1. Yep, I figure you should cross paths with them at some point. Maybe in about 2 weeks. I’ll let you know !
