We are continuing our one night only stays as we keep moving west.  This morning we left our free camp and stopped at Caiguna for a hole of golf and some fuel.  I really think had I not strained my right forearm I may have won the hole….but the figures do disagree!  Scores were 6, 6, 7, 9, 9 and 12 with Jase and Sue sharing honours.

A quick stop at a blowhole that wasn’t blowing before embarking on the 90 mile straight.  This is the longest straight road in Australia.  Karen and I shared the journey (she was towing and I was passengering) and it flew by as we did puzzles along the way.

At the end of the straight we were deposited at Balladonia roadhouse for lunch and another hole of golf.  The injured athlete (me, obviously) had to sit this one out but the rest gave their best and Bob was the winner with a score of 6 on this one.

Interestingly, Balladonia was the location that the Skylab space station crash landed in 1979.  There was a museum with history and remnants of the station which we looked through.

Then it was less than 100km to our camp for tonight at Fraser Range Station.  Lots of campers and facilities which we haven’t seen since the other end of the Nullabor.  Once we arrived it was time to get some exercise in.  The Scott’s hot footed it along a walk at the station while the rest of us suckers did a Tani PT session.  Was hard but really needed after so long sitting and travelling.  We rounded out the evening with some chats at the communal campfire followed by dinner in the camp kitchen (except for the Scott’s who had dinner at the dining room restaurant).  We finished with another game of 5 Crowns won by Kieran.

It is going to be a very cold night tonight so we won’t rush out in the morning.  Tomorrow we are thinking we’ll push through to Kalgoorlie.
