Today was cold, cloudy and windy with the odd shower. We didn’t rush to leave our van at all. I even managed some more jigsaw time – the first since the rain in Kalbarri. A cooked late breakfast classified as a brunch before we ventured outside.

Once we touched base with Karen and Kieran the decision was made to head to Munglinup Beach, about half an hour east. The weather wasn’t beachy, but the rock pools and rock layers were so good to explore.

A bit blurry but Karen managed to capture the dolphins popping out the top of the waves

We arrived back to the vans in time for a late lunch. Bob was keen to watch the NRL grand final, so we set up for that using starlink and I merrily spent the afternoon making vego sausage rolls (I know Sandra, I’m continuing to break all the Kerri food eating and prep rules….). Some impromptu recipe changes were required based on current pantry stocks, which once again Kerri isn’t generally able to accommodate but overall I think they worked out ok.

Bob and Kieran watched the football (which started at 430 here) while Karen and I did puzzles in front of the fire at their van. We had a lovely colourful sunset followed by a light dinner in front of the fire. Rain is still intermittent but generally hasn’t impacted us today too much at all.

Tomorrow Bob and I have decided to move on to Hopetoun for a couple of nights while the Scott’s stay on to complete the booking here. We’ll all look to explore the eastern side of the Fitzgerald River National Park over the next couple of days.

  1. Watch out Kerri…..Bob might decide to keep the van at home so you can share the cooking duties when you get home. 😀
