2025-10-15 Change of State
As pre-empted yesterday, we were up and on the road early. I didn’t set an alarm but with the sun rising so early we were wide awake at 530 and on the road by 545. The local kangaroos were the only ones up to see us off.

We had a massive day of driving and I even had to help out and do some driving to share the load 🙂 . It was quite windy, but luckily the wind was mostly from behind for the day so it was good for our fuel economy. We have had sunshine, wind, rain and lightning storms in the 1000km of travel today. We have made it through to SA and have camped at a free camp about 10km over the border.

The time has moved 2.5 hours forward! so we’ll be night owls tonight. It’s currently over 30 degrees after 8pm and another storm has just hit with a vengeance. We’ve had to close the windows as the rain was coming in sideways and the van is being banged around.
We’ve just realised that after such a big travel day we will likely go through the quarantine station at Ceduna tomorrow, so a massive cookup is underway to get our veggies cooked. At least the blog won’t take any time tonight 🙂 .

We have touched base with the Scott’s this evening and they have stopped for the night at Norseman (almost 750km from where we are – what a difference a day makes!).
Expecting another big km day tomorrow and then we’ll slow down again.
