2025-10-22 Victor Harbor
After 5 days of sightseeing on the Yorke Peninsula, the wind got the better of us today and we blasted from the bottom end straight out the top, jet propelled by the gale force winds behind us. We called in to Port Vincent for the water tank mural art photo before stopping for coffee and a pie at the bakery at Ardrossan.

From there we punched out 230km directly to Victor Harbor. We didn’t stop at Adelaide as just like Perth, we’ve been many times before and will again, but it is easily accessible by air so not needing to use up time this trip going there.
Traversing through the suburbs was a bit slow going though so it was around 330pm when we rocked up in town. We were keen to get out and walk to stretch the legs after over 300km of travel today (even though it’s still super windy), so did a 7.5km walk to town, across the Granite Island Causeway and around the island. Great views and rocky landscapes. The island is home to a colony of little penguins, but despite our efforts we weren’t able to see any.

We walked back to the van via the CBD before arriving back hungry and content around 730. It’s pretty cold and windy here, but it doesn’t compare with Edithburgh. Tomorrow is meant to be much improved. Thinking a bike ride to explore along the cycleways is on the cards.
