2025-10-30 Fast track to Forbes
An easy pack up this morning thanks to our drive through site for the night. We parked the van out on the street and headed to the Beechworth Bakery on a recommendation from Dad.

After our late breakfast we headed to our Murray River cruise. PS Canberra is a 113 year old paddle steamer which is powered by a wood fired steam engine. We enjoyed a one hour paddle upstream and learned the boating history of the town of Echuca as well as seeing some local wildlife. The weather was perfect with no wind. So many paddle boats! An enjoyable morning.

We walked back and jumped in the car to begin a big afternoon of travel. We were in NSW by midday and had a late lunch stop at Jerilderie. Lots of knitting and over 500km later we have pulled up at a free camp next to the lake at Forbes. Bob was keen for a walk around to stretch the legs so we went for a wander and picked up a few groceries for dinner. We were treated to the local dragon boat team practicing out the front of the free camp.
Tomorrow we will continue our northward travel. Will let you know where we get to then.
