2023-07-27 Cockburn Ranges

We’ve become accustomed to staying at a location for around 3 nights.  Today was pack up day and it isn’t very exciting anymore.  At least we are heading somewhere new to make it a bit more interesting.

We first headed across the Durack River.  The level is really quite low now so it wasn’t stressful at all.  I put the drone up and tried to put it in follow me mode but only succeeded in turning it off when I wanted it on and on when it should be off.  So nothing to show for my efforts….I know I’m not meant to do video and this just confirms it.  Karen, however managed to get video of us rocking and rolling across the river.

We only had 110km to travel today.  Along the way we came off the plateau and down to the river flats.  We stopped at Bindoola Falls which were completely dry, but the waterhole and gorge was quite lovely.

It was nice to actually do some sunset photography this afternoon (see photo at top).  The sunset was very lovely (even without clouds to make it interesting).

We have had dinner and a movie night to finish the day.  Tomorrow we will set out exploring the area.
