2025-07-09 Into Western Australia
Today we woke up to rain and high winds (as expected). We all decided to press on towards WA and as per previous days, the weather went between sunny, cloudy and rainy (but always windy).

We only headed a few km down the road and headed in to our first sight seeing opportunity – a large sink hole. Once again, Mav with her low clearance did superbly traversing the 4wd track getting in.

Then the west traverse started in earnest. First stop was at the border for the obligatory photo, our next hole of golf, and our quarantine inspection. We had every cupboard, under the bed, the shower, the fridges and the car centre console inspected for this one!

The sky opened while playing the par 3 hole. Scores were 5, 6, 7, 7, 7 and 8 and Bob got the yellow jersey for a short period…..

We moved down the road and stopped for lunch at Mundrabilla roadhouse and our next golf hole. Par 3 again and the scores were 4, 5, 5, 7 ,9 and 11 and the yellow shirt was passed back to Jason. Clearly no one was listening when I casually commented that it was up to my turn to win a hole…..
More km and a couple of leg stretches and we are holed up at a free camp 50km west of Cocklebiddy where we have no firewood thanks to quarantine and 2 of the 3 vans watched State of Origin. Karen and I continued our jigsaw in their van instead 🙂 .
Tomorrow we keep moving west.

Is the time zone change in WA helping with morning wake ups Kerri?
Hi Louise, yes it’s much better now. Very cold in the morning though. Today it was less than 5 degrees in the van when we woke. Not enticing to jump out of bed….
